Profile

Imran Khan or Imran Khan Jr. is a left-arm medium-fast bowler who plays for Pakistan. Imran made his T20 debut for Peshawar Panthers in the 2014-15 season of the Haier T20 Cup. He was the highest wicket-taker of the tournament, grabbing 12 wickets from 6 games at an average of 12.91 and was adjudged the best bowler of the tournament.

Imran hails from Swat District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. Before his senior T20 debut for the Panthers, Imran played district cricket for Swat in the Peshawar division of Inter-District Senior Tournament. Imran had a dream senior T20 debut against Lahore Eagles as he took 4/25 and was awarded the man of the match award.

Owing to his clever use of the slower ball, Imran made a name for himself for being an outstanding bowler in the T20 format. In fact, he was magnificent in the 2015-16 season of the Haier T20 Cup. With 16 wickets in the tournament, he claimed his second successive best bowler award, helping his side (Peshawar Panthers) successfully defend their T20 crown as well.

Soon he was rewarded with a place in the national side and he made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in September 2015. Even though he remained wicketless in his first game, he took 2/35 in the second T20I as Pakistan won the match by 15 runs, and the 2-match series 2-0.
