Matthew Hart

New Zealand

Profile

A slow left-arm orthodox spinner, who could pitch in with the bat lower down the order, Matthew Hart, faded away into the oblivion after enjoying a fine start to his international career. He claimed the then best bowling figures by a Kiwi bowler in ODIs, bagging 5-22 versus West Indies in 1994 in the Wills World series. Hart performed reasonably well until Daniel Vettori arrived on the scene. The latter then grew leaps and bounds to become one of New Zealand's finest spinners.

Hart retired from all forms of cricket in 2005.
