Profile

A strongly built, large frame right-arm medium pacer, McPeake was a late bloomer. He made his debut for Wellington at the age of 25. Starting his career with Hutt Districts Cricket Club, McPeake took his time before turning up for his state.

Even the call-up to Wellington wouldn't have sufficed had there not been a shortage of players due to injury. However, McPeake made the most of his opportunities and grabbed his career-best figures of 5 for 50 in only his second season - a spell that came when Ollie Newton was forced out with an injury.

The following season in 2018 was the coming of age for McPeake. In an attack that consists of Jeetan Patel, Hamish Bennett and Logan van Beek, McPeake held his own. All four bowlers finished in the top five leading wicket-takers list, with McPeake scalping 35 wickets at 19.34. The four of them helped Wellington finish second in the Plunkett Shield.
