It's a game of inches and Australia were able to come out triumphs when it mattered the most. India went into a shell in the fourth innings - their game plan was to go for a draw. But sometimes, that kind of ploy can backfire and that's what happened as the Aussies kept probing away and found the rewards on a varible surface. Stick around for the presentations...

There were lots of ebbs and flows throughout this game. Australia's mammoth score of 474 in the first innings pushed India on the back foot. In response, India had managed a good foothold on the game but Jaiswal's dicey run-out opened things up. Nitish Reddy emerged as the hero for the visitors as he scored his maiden Test ton under testing circumstances. But, Australia ended up gaining a 105-run lead and that proved to be substantial. It was a terrific fightback from India with Bumrah at the helm of affairs and Siraj gave him good company. India could have even gained an advantage if Jaiswal had held onto Labuschange's catch when Australia were effectively 204/6. Jaiswal dropped three catches and two of them were fairly easy. And that last wicket stand of 61 between Lyon and Boland hurt India.

17:25 Local Time, 06:25 GMT, 11:55 IST: An amazing game of Test cricket! Australia needed a push in the final session and they got it to script an emphatic win eventually to go 2-1 up in the series. India were 112/3 at Tea with Pant and Jaiswal going strong and would have believed in themselves to save this Test match. Australia, on the other hand, knew that a wicket can open things up and that's what exactly happened. Pant once again fell trying to play a big shot and that opened the floodgates. The rest of the batters kept falling like a pack of cards with an Aussie attack on the prowl. India lost their last seven wickets for 34 runs and that tells you the story - if you give a sniff to the Aussies, they are likely to capitalize and they surely did. Boland and Lyon were in their elements and closed the game out clinically.

Lyon to Siraj, out Lbw!! Siraj has been trapped in front but he takes the review. That's the only option he has. Looked adjacent to the naked eye. Turned in sharply from a length outside off and kept a bit low, Siraj looked to work it across but missed to get pinged on the pads. Time for the replays. Snicko shows a flat line. Over to ball-tracking and it reveals three reds - it would have crashed into the leg-stump. A brilliant performance from Australia. They seized the crunch moments in the game and that is what matters. Australia go 2-1 up in the series with a game in hand and bolster their chances to qualify for the WTC final. Boland to Bumrah, out Caught by Smith!! That's an outstanding catch from Smith at first slip! Razor sharp reflexes there from Smith. This one rears up from a length outside off as it keeps coming in with the angle, Bumrah commits to the front foot as he looks to block tentatively but gets an outside edge behind. Smith at first slip gets low to his right and takes it with both hands inches above the ground. It's taken upstairs to check for the clarity of the catch and the replay confirms the catch is clean. Australia are just one wicket away now. Bumrah c Smith b Boland 0(8)
