Ishan Kishan’s Unbeaten Century Puts East Zone in Command on Duleep Trophy Final Day 1

East Zone finished the opening day of the Duleep Trophy 2026 final in a commanding position after piling up 385/4 against South Zone at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Kishan Leads From the Front

Ishan Kishan was the main attraction on the opening day, producing a composed unbeaten 111. The East Zone captain grew stronger as the innings progressed and ensured his team finished the day with a substantial total on the board.

The final session belonged entirely to Ishan Kishan and Kumar Kushagra. The pair remained unbeaten and added 144 runs for the fifth wicket, putting South Zone's bowlers under sustained pressure.

Both batters appeared increasingly comfortable as the day progressed, despite occasional turn and low bounce from the surface.
