Profile Summary

Tom Taylor made his first-class debut for Derbyshire before he was signed by Leicestershire at the start of 2018. Looking at Tom Taylor's career stats you would get confused what he actually specializes in. He's a player with a good bowling record in first-class cricket, while his List A record is better as a batsman. Rarely do you get to witness such contrasting stats across different formats. With nearly 100 first-class wickets and a batting average of close to 50 in the limited-over format, Taylor is yet to make his debut for Leicestershire in t20 cricket.

One of his better performances came in May 2019 during Leicestershire's contest against Derbyshire. In this Royal London One-Day Cup match, Taylor played a magnificent knock of 98 that consisted of 13 boundaries and two huge sixes. As a result of his brilliant innings, Leicestershire managed to post 340-odd in the limited over contest and Taylor also inflicted a run-out in addition to his three wickets while defending the total. Due to his all-round effort, Leicestershire won that contest by 36 runs. Taylor's maiden five-wicket haul came against Gloucestershire, whereas Hashim Amla was his maiden first-class wicket.
