Profile Summary

No player likes to move around from one team to another and more so when you are trying to prove your mettle in that side's Second XI. Matt Salisbury was a consistent member of the Essex Second XI and even made his List A and T20 debut for them. In fact, he picked up 10 wickets in the 2014 T20 Blast for Essex.

But like most fast bowlers he had a slew injuries which did not allow him to play regular cricket and was hence released from the Essex squad. Hampshire then snapped him up and the right-arm medium pacer plied his trade for a while at the Rose Bowl.

Jon Lewis, the current head coach of Durham, recognized his talent and brought him to the north-east side in 2018. Salisbury had played a handful of first class games by then, more notably had picked up the wicket of former England player Ian Bell in his debut championship game.

After turning out for Durham's Second XI at the start of the 2018 season, Salisbury has slowly broken into the first team.
