Profile Summary
Chris Green, an off-spinner and a handy middle-order-batsman is extremely miser when it comes to conceding runs and pretty lavish while scoring them. These skill-set make him an asset in the T-20 format.
He made his debut for New South Wales during the 2014/15 Matador BBQs One-Day Cup when both Nathan Lyon and Stephen' O' Keefe were on international duty. After some decent performance, Sydney Thunders offered him a BBL contract and he played a stellar role in their 2015-16 winning campaign.
After the breakthrough 2015-16 season in BBL, Green proclaimed a reputation as a T20 cricketer. And global leagues such as the PSL and the CPL approached him. He has represented Lahore Qalandars and Guyana Amazon Warriors. An IPL contract would follow too in 2020 when he was signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders but he played just one game. He was named the captain of the Sydney Thunder in 2023/24.
Unique Fact: Green was born in Durban, South Africa to a South African father and a British mother and hence, also holds a British passport.
