Profile Summary

Almost a wrong-footed action, yet all seems right when Junior Dala skids it off the wicket with deceptive pace to trouble the batsman. Playing under the able eyes of Mark Boucher for the Titans in domestic cricket, Dala was fast-tracked for the T20I series against India.

Dala immediately made an impression by dismissing Rohit Sharma in all the three games and also bagging the wickets of Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. His 7 wickets in the 3-match T20I series came at a decent average of just over 15. But his expensive figures of 2 for 47 in his debut game enrolled him for a dubious record. Those numbers turned out to be the most expensive numbers for a South African bowler on debut in a T20I.

But the penchant to go for wickets and bowl at a hustling pace meant he was picked up the Delhi franchise as an injury replacement to replace Chris Morris during IPL 2018.
