Profile Summary
Himmat Singh's inclusion in the team proved to be a blessing for Delhi as they won both the matches he made his debut in. Himmat's first-class debut came against Railways in October 2017 while his List A debut came against Andhra in a Vijay Hazare Trophy fixture. Delhi won the Ranji fixture against Railways by an innings and 105 runs while they thrashed Andhra by 9 wickets during the Vijay Hazare Trophy contest. Himmat, who bats in the middle order, gives stability to the side. Not only can he play the role of a sheet anchor but he can also turn on the heat in the final overs with his big shots and ability to find gaps at will.
Himmat replaced Yash Dhull as Delhi’s Ranji captain in the middle of the 2022-23 season and he also led the side in the first half of the following season. He further showcased his leadership by guiding the East Delhi Riders to victory in the inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League in 2024.
After being part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad in 2019, Himmat was bought by Lucknow Super Giants at his base price of Rs 30 lakh at the 2025 IPL auction. He made his IPL debut and played three games in the same season, however, he didn’t get to bat in any of those games.
