Profile Summary
Another member who was part of that 2008 New Zealand U 19 World Cup, which consisted the likes of Williamson, Southee, Boult and others. Anurag Verma - a right-arm medium pace bowler from Hamilton began his career with Northern Districts.
He made the headlines when he picked 3 for 54 against Canterbury County in the Hawke Cup and also cleaned up former New Zealand opener Matt Horne in a Under-19 v NZCPA Masters fixture. The 2008 World Cup followed these performances but the next step after that never came.
Verma made his first class and List A debut in 2011 for Northern Districts. But with limited playing time and unimpressive performances, he switched base to Wellington in 2015/16. Even there the numbers are not eye-catching but was a surprise entrant in the 2018 IPL auctions, where he went unsold.
