Profile Summary
Sayan Ghosh is a 25-year old fast bowler who represents Bengal in Ranji Trophy. He made his debut in the 2015-16 season against Vidarbha. He posses a slingy action and that is the reason he has often been compared to the Sri Lankan veteran Lasith Malinga. His action also makes him more suitable for the shorter formats.
Sayan hails from the town of Chakdaha in the Eastern region of West Bengal. His breakthrough moment as a cricketer came in the year 2017 when he picked up 14 wickets in the Syed Mushtaq Trophy and emerged as the brightest bowler for Bengal in the tournament. Following his good display in the Syed Mushtaq Trophy, he was picked up by the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 10 Lakhs in the 2017 auction.
Sayan failed to get any opportunity in the playing 11 but was still picked up by the Delhi Daredevils in the 2018 Indian Premier League. Like Kolkata Knight riders, Daredevils also have no dearth of international fast bowlers in their line-up and it will be tough for Sayan to be a part of the first 11.
