Profile Summary
In recent times, there has been a dearth of quality left-arm pacers in Indian cricket. So much so that they even decided to blood a greenhorn in Barinder Sran two years ago mainly because he was the only promising one in that category at that point. Young Kanishk Seth from Bengal is another aspiring left-arm quick who has started off brightly in his domestic career so far. Having made his debut in the 2017-18 season, he has featured in all three formats although it's seems like he is more at ease with white-ball cricket.
Quite like a lot of the uncapped IPL signings this year, it was the 2018 Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy performances from Seth that made people to sit up and take notice. A left-arm pacer is always an asset due to the variety he can provide and Seth has also shown glimpses of batting potential as well in terms of providing some late cameos down the order. The IPL should be an ideal platform for him to expand his skills and groom himself into being a better player.
