Profile Summary
A tall lanky leg-spinner, Usama born in Sialkot made his domestic debut in 2013 playing for Khan Research Laboratories. He has also been a part of the Sialkot Stallions T20 franchise as well. In edition one of the PSL, Karachi Kings bought the services of Usama.
His talk frame helps him to extract extra bounce from the wicket. He has a deceptive googly as well and is not afraid to toss it up even in the shorter formats of the game. In the second edition of the PSL, he was asked to bowl the final over in a game against Peshawar Zalmi with 19 needed and Shahid Afridi on strike. He won Karachi a crucial game picking up the wickets of Afridi and Hasan Ali.
Mir was handed an ODI debut in 2023 and his first scalp was Kane Williamson. Subsequently, Mir was also included in Pakistan's squad for the 2023 Cricket World Cup and became the first ever concussion substitute in a World Cup after replacing Shadab Khan against South Africa.
Mir also plies his trade in T20 leagues around the world. He has played in the PSL, CPL, BPL and the BBL.
