Profile Summary
A dashing wicketkeeper batsman hailing from Tamil Nadu, Narayan Jagadeesan came to the limelight after a highly impressive stint in the first season of the Tamil Nadu Premier League in 2016. He had made his First-class debut earlier that year and had started on a positive note there as well. Jagadeesan is a more than safe gloveman to add to his dazzling batting skills and with age on his side, he can only get better. It wasn't a surprise that the Chennai Super Kings picked up him at the 2018 Player auctions because Jagadeesan being a local boy adds to the flavor of the side apart from his obvious skill set.
Jagadeesan isn't likely to get many chances with MS Dhoni being the automatic wicketkeeper of the side. Nevertheless, if he does get an opportunity, perhaps as a pure batsman, it would be the ideal situation for him to throw his hat into the ring as far as India's future wicketkeeper probables are concerned. From whatever he has shown thus far, Jagadeesan has shown adaptability to the different formats on the domestic circuit and it's this flexibility that will be key for him if he is to progress further in his career.
