Profile Summary

The story of Kerwin Mungroo is another one which is nothing sort of a fairytale. His family income was never affluent and his dreams of becoming a cricketer would have met an untimely end but he persisted.

Persistence bears fruits, albeit a bit late at times. But it did for Mungroo who is one of those rare exceptions who loves to bowl and hates to bat. A tall, strong fast bowler who can swing the ball up front with the new red nut, Mungroo made his amateur debut for KZN Inland. He impressed with his T20 skills as well in the 2017 African T20 Cup and that paved the way for franchise cricket.

In early 2018, the muscular lad travelled to Sri Lanka with a SA emerging side and then towards the end of the year was picked up by Paarl Rocks for Mzansi Premier League. In the inaugural edition of MSL, the pacer played only four matches, but he showcased his prowess in a must-win encounter against Jozi Stars by picking three wickets including the prized scalp of Chris Gayle.
