Profile Summary
Amongst a host of other well-built all-rounders going around the Australian circuit, Aaron Hardie is a right-handed batter and a useful right-arm medium-pace bowler. He dismissed Root, playing for Cricket Australia XI and took a sensational catch of his bowling to get rid of Virat Kohli against India in a tour match. Aaron picked up the wicket of India's white-ball sensation, Rohit Sharma too and ended up with four wickets in the first innings of the tour match against India. He was named in Australia's squad for the 2018 Under-19 World Cup but was later ruled out due to injury.
Hardie made his T20 debut for the Perth Scorchers in 2018/19 and went on to make his first-class and List-A debuts for Western Australia later in the same season. Identified as a talent for the future, Hardie's consistent run at the domestic level meant that he was fast-tracked and rewarded with an Australia cap in 2023. He made his T20I and ODI debuts against South Africa just prior to the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
