Profile Summary

One of Bangladesh's big batting hopes in the limited-overs formats, Towhid Hridoy has the gift of timing and elegance when in full flow. According to teammate Litton Das, his ability to hit the good ball for a six is rare among Bangladesh players.

A product of Bangladesh’s Under-19 setup, Hridoy was a part of the squad for both the 2018 and 2020 editions of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He came into national reckoning after a standout run in BPL 2023, scoring 403 runs in the season at a healthy strike rate, which led to T20I and ODI debuts within a month. Hridoy's ODI career got off to a superb start, scoring 92 against Ireland, while his T20I debut against England was less memorable. His career graph has followed in the same vein so far as he's yet to translate his domestic T20 form on the international arena.

In ODIs, though, there have been quite a few performances of note. Consecutive fifties in the Asia Cup in 2023, 74 against Australia at the 2023 World Cup, and his maiden international century against India on a difficult pitch in Dubai in Champions Trophy 2025 being high up on the list.

Hridoy has also been involved in some disciplinary issues in his short career. He was handed a four-match ban by the BCB for misbehaving with umpires in domestic cricket in 2025.
