Hemang Patel is a right-arm medium pace bowler who hails from the Union Territory, Daman and Diu, located in Gujarat. Born in 1998, he made his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2018 and his T20 debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2019. Hemang is a useful first-change bowler, with the ability to bowl several variations, cutters, and seam-up deliveries, and occasionally swing the ball in the air as well. His economy rate in the T20 format, in particular, has been rather impressive (6.56 after his maiden Syed Mushtaq Ali season) as he continues to impress in the limited opportunities he gets. Moreover, he has also been extremely impressed with the bat lower down the order, scoring quick and valuable runs down the order. He may not be on the national radar for his bowling right now, but he could certainly be hot property in the upcoming IPL auctions if he continues to churn out consistent performances with the ball in addition to adding the aforementioned runs with the bat.
