Profile Summary

A right-arm medium pacer with a high-arm action, Rosemary Mair is a hit-the-deck-hard bowler who has the ability to generate extra bounce. After a good domestic season, she made her T20I debut against India in February 2019 and ODI debut in the same month against Australia.

Later that year, Mair came to limelight after bagging a double hat-trick maiden for Hawke's Bay in an inter-district match in 2019. She finished with unbelievable figures of 4-4-0-4.

While she was part of the New Zealand set-up in the 2020 T20 World Cup, 2022 Commonwealth Games and 2023 World Cup, the pacer wasn’t a regular in the playing XI. Injuries and inconsistency meant that Mair didn’t play a single international game in 2023. A back injury cut short her comeback but she recovered in time to take part in the big event which turned out to be historic for her country.

Mair played a major role in helping New Zealand win the 2024 T20 World Cup. She picked a 4-fer (4/19 - her career best figures) against India in her team’s first match of the competition and also bagged three wickets in the final against South Africa. Mair was the third highest wicket-taker (12 wickets in 6 matches) of the tournament.
