Profile Summary
A right-arm pacer who can clock 140kph, Rajvardhan Hangargekar came to limelight during the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Not only did he bowl with the new ball, he also showed his hitting prowess in the lower order.
After making his Maharashtra debut in the shorter formats in 2021, he was an integral member of India Under-19's twin triumphs at the Asia Cup and World Cup. Post that, there was a bidding war for him during the 2022 IPL auctions. He was eventually acquired by Chennai Super Kings for INR 1.50 crore. However, he sat out the entire season after being under scrutiny for an age-fraud violation.
Hangargekar played a couple of matches in the 2023 edition of the IPL and bagged a three-wicket haul on debut. In 2024, he was once again benched throughout the season. He was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for INR 30 lakh in the 2025 IPL auction.
