Profile Summary
Though Rajat Bhatia has been around for more than a decade now and can be termed as a true veteran, the IPL helped him find his true worth in the modern day cricket. After plying his trade for Tamil Nadu and Delhi in the domestic circuit, Bhatia had to move to Rajasthan amid an administrative chaos in the affairs of Delhi cricket. Bhatia's slow right arm medium pace coupled with his ability to swing the willow to good effect made him a smart buy in the IPL. He has featured for various teams in the nine seasons of the IPL so far.
To his credit, he has also won the Ranji Trophy with his home state Delhi. The 2016 edition of the IPL was not very fruitful for Bhatia as newly drafted Pune side, which had bought him for INR 60 lakhs, could not do much in the series. In a fair world, Bhatia would have worn the Indian jersey but he does not regret missing out the opportunity to don the Indian colours.
