Profile Summary
A young and aggressive right-arm fast bowler, Tanzim Hasan Sakib made the step up from age group cricket a few years after the U19 World Cup in 2020 where he was part of the Bangladesh squad that won the title. He made his ODI debut at the age of 20 against India and struck with just his second ball to dismiss Rohit Sharma for a duck in the Asia Cup. With a bustling run-up and quick-arm action, he generates good pace and can also swing the ball away from the right-hander.
Arriving at a time when Bangladesh's fast bowling stocks were at an all-time high, Tanzim still managed to carve out a place for himself in the limited-overs formats, especially after his brilliant showing in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He picked up 11 wickets in the tournament at an economy rate of 6.20. In 2025, he was part of the pace attack that scripted a series win at home against Pakistan in the T20I series with some fine bowling.
While being impressive in limited overs, Tanzim has a long way to go in developing his skills in the longest format. His first-class numbers in the initial stages of his career aren't great and his only Test came against Zimbabwe in 2025.
