Profile Summary

Appearing like a mirror image to Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad is a left arm mystery spinner from Afghanistan. Right from a young age, he was creating quite a buzz in Afghanistan cricket and was included in their U19 World Cup squad in 2020 as a 15-year-old. That opened the door for a few franchise tournaments for Ahmad, as he went on to represent St Lucia Kings in the CPL, the Melbourne Renegades in the BBL and the Karachi Kings in PSL. He was also picked as a net bowler by Chennai Super Kings in 2021.

In 2023, Noor Ahmad was roped in by Gujarat Titans in the IPL. He made an impressive debut as he picked up 16 wickets in his first 13 matches, forming a lethal partnership with Rashid Khan. Noor has also been a regular for Afghanistan since 2023, playing in the ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20I World Cup.

Noor Ahmad was part of Afghanistan’s side for the 2025 Champions Trophy as well, and continues to make solid strides in his International career. In the franchise world, he was one of the most in demand players at the auctions for IPL 2025, being picked by Chennai Super Kings for a whooping fee of 10 crores.
