Profile Summary
Born on December 1, 1983, Alam is a right arm medium fast bowler. He made his FC debut in 2003-04 and impressed one and all with his performances for the Academy side. A splendid run in the 2007-08 domestic season saw Mahbubul claim 39 wickets at 20.69 paving the way for a debut against New Zealand in October, 2008.
Mahbubul Alam could not keep his domestic form running into the highest level though and was discarded after 4 fruitless Test matches. Alam has had a handful of expensive overs in the limited form of the game.
According to former Bangladesh's bowling coach, Champaka Ramanayake, Mahbubul is 'a bowler who depends heavily on rhythm.'
Interesting factMahbubul is curiously nicknamed as Robin.
