A left-arm spin bowler and handy lower-order batsman playing for Tygerberg Cricket Club’s 2nd XI in the Western Province Cricket Association (Reserve A League) in Cape Town. He plays for the same club as South African star Vernon Philander
A District North Under-19 and Regional Performance Centre Under-23’s representative, he broke into senior club cricket for Tygerberg in 2015 and has to date impressed. The High School DF Malan graduate, who excelled for the 1st XI between 2012 and 2014, has taken 44 wickets for the club averaging 19.09, including 18 wickets in the One-Day format at 10.28.
Louw has an uncanny ability to take key wickets in the middle overs, all with a low economy rate. In his 226 overs for Tygerberg to date, he has an impressive economy rate of 3.70 and a strike-rate in one-day cricket of 16.67. A highly talented prospect, who is eager to breaking to the Tygerberg first team in future, is hoping to play abroad in 2017 for his ongoing development.
