Profile Summary

Abdulla started his first-class career with KwaZulu-Natal and was picked in the Rest of South Africa squad after playing just three games. He is a left-arm bowler, who skids on and depends a lot on his variations. After having an impressive outing in domestic cricket, he was picked for the A tour to India. He was able to gain the confidence of the selectors, who picked him to represent the National side in a T20I. Abdulla made his debut against Australia in 2009 and ended with figures of 1/16.

An accident to West Indian bowler - Jerome Taylor meant that Abdulla got a chance to play in the Indian T20 League for the Punjab franchise. He had a dream start and was the second highest wicket-taker for his team. Due to this performance, Punjab gave him a contract the following season as well for $50,000.

Abdulla was typecast as a T20 specialist. He became predictable with his variations and soon lost his place in the South African squad. He still plays for KwaZulu-Natal Inland but chances of comeback look very bleak.
