Profile Summary
A short lad who was jumping in joy after India won the 2008 Under-19 World Cup under Virat Kohli in Malaysia. He opened the innings and did decently apart from keeping the wickets. He was one of the players from that Under-19 team to get an IPL contract and it was for Royal Challengers Bangalore, for whom he played the first three seasons of the cash-rich league.
He then moved to Kolkata Knight Riders for IPL-4 before being roped in by Rajasthan Royals the next season. However, he did not play the cash-rich league again as he found no bidders for the next two years.
Shreevats Goswami made his first-class debut with Bengal in 2008 against Madhya Pradesh. However, he was not seen as a good material for the longest format of the game and was picked only for limited-overs cricket. With the emergence of Wriddhiman Saha, he has found it tough to seal a place in the side.
