Profile Summary
A cricketer-turned bookie, Amit Singh was in the news for all the wrong reasons and was eventually arrested in the IPL spot-fixing scandal that broke out in 2013 during the 6th edition of the IPL.
Singh was a right-arm fast bowler who impressed Rajasthan Royals ever since his first-class debut for Gujarat in 2004 as they were convinced to give him an IPL contract in 2009, despite having played very few first-class games.
In fact, captain Shane Warne regarded the tall tall highly after some good bowling performances in his debut season. He also played a few games in the next two season before the Royals let him go in 2012.
He then returned to domestic circuit to play first-class cricket but featured only in two games for Gujarat that season. Eventually, after being found guilty in the spot-fixing saga, the BCCI slapped him with a 5-year ban.
