Profile Summary
Mushfiqur Rahman is a Bangladeshi pacer, who played domestic cricket for the Rajshahi Division. He made his ODI debut against India in May 2000. His Test debut came in the early stages of Bangladesh's Test status. He played his first Test against Zimbabwe in 2001. However, the start to his career in the longer format of the game was not a pleasant one. He was barely able to score a run and remained wicketless for quite a few games.
It took Rahman nearly 2 years to work on his skills and in 2003, he returned back with better batting skills and decent bowling technique. He performed particularly well in the Tests against England and won the Man of the Series award in the ODIs that followed. His flawless seam bowling was one of the highlights of Bangladesh's otherwise drab tour.
Unfortunately, he could not sustain the form for long and vanished from the international scene a year later. Although, he did play domestic and club-level cricket until 2008.
