Profile Summary

Talha Jubair is a Bangladeshi right-arm medium pacer, who has also played for the Central Zone (Bangladesh) and Dhaka Metropolis. Talented and strong, Jubair made his Test debut in 2002 when he was only 16 in a match against Sri Lanka. He could not have asked a better start to his career as he removed ace batsmen Marvan Atapattu and Mahela Jayawardene in his first spell itself. His ODI debut came a few months later against New Zealand. In just his 2nd ODI against South Africa, he picked up 4 wickets and he was included in the 2003 World Cup squad.

However, things started going downhill for Jubair after the World Cup as he was plagued with injuries. A stress fracture at the back laid him low for a considerable period. However, he made a return in December 2004 in a Test against India but was dropped thereafter.

West Indies legend Andy Roberts had once promoted Talha Jubair but he could not maintain his form and failed to live upto the expectations. Although, he has not played an international game since 2004, he continues playing domestic till date.
