Profile Summary
Known for his steady accurate off spin and the ability to give the ball a real whack, Stephen Peall's international career was very limited due to the competition he faced from John Traicos, a rather like-to-like cricketer whom Zimbabwe preferred. Even in the domestic circuit, Peall didn't quite have the numbers that made a case for himself. At his best, he provided a lot of control, plugging away at consistent lines and lengths, waiting for the batsmen to commit a mistake. He didn't have the ability to run through a side and was barely threatening, a reason why his Test career was limited. However, his bits-and-pieces package helped him play more ODIs in comparison but again, his career lasted a mere three years. Peall was a poor fielder and this is another factor which worked against him. He even had disciplinary issues and was once dropped for a tour due to the same reason.
