Profile Summary
A terrific strokemaker who had a rich array of shots in his kitty, Craig Wishart at times was a victim of his own skills. The issues dogging Zimbabwean cricket at that time didn't help either. Consistency eluded him but when he clicked, the opener had the ability to make an instant impact on the game. Wishart was the kind of attacking batsman that Zimbabwe needed in their rising years as an international team. For a player with over 25 Tests and close to 100 ODIs, a tally of five international centuries was extremely underwhelming. There were off-field issues too, like many other Zimbabwean cricketers of his times. Firstly, the big dispute in 2004 which saw a series of players including Wishart being axed. He did make a comeback next year but the political issues and disputes with the administration recurred, forcing Wishart to make a final exit.
