Profile Summary
Kenneth Benjamin was a West Indies fast bowler, who along with Courtney Walsh and Curtly Ambrose, formed the pace attack for the national side in the mid 1990s. He made his Test debut against the visiting South African side in 1992, and ODI debut against Pakistan at Perth in the same year. He did not take the world by storm in the initial years but burst onto the scene against England in 1993-94 when he took 6/66 in the first innings at Kingston. His good run continued as he picked 7 wickets in the next match, and ended with 22 wickets in the series. His best performances came when conditions were conducive to swing bowling, and was at his menacing best at England in 1995 where he picked 23 wickets from 5 matches. He continued to be on and off the squad for the next the two years, and played his last Test, his 26th against England at Port of Spain in 1998.
