Profile Summary
He was seen a promising young fast bowler when he came to light first. However, when he got the opportunity to play for India, he couldn't quite deliver quality goods. VRV Singh made his first-class debut at the age of 20 against Uttar Pradesh at Mohali.
Injuries plagued his career. When he was first picked to play for India, he failed a fitness test and wasn't preferred. However, in 2006, he made his international debut by playing an ODI against England in Jamshedpur. After playing the next ODI at Indore, Singh never played for the country again in the limited-overs format. The selectors gave him a ticket to tour to West Indies, where he made his Test debut at St John's. He also travelled with the side to play Test matches in South Africa and Bangladesh but he was never picked again due to inconsistent performances.
Injuries forced him to stay away from domestic cricket from 2008-2012, though he played a few games. He returned in 2013 but had to start from scratch he was away from the game for a long time.
Singh has also represented the Kings XI Punjab in the IPL.
