Profile Summary
A reliable seamer, Steve Watkin served Glamorgan with distinction for over a decade. Watkin, whose forte was to seam the ball off the deck, grabbed 902 first-class wickets in addition to 309 List-A scalps. Watkin was handed his England Test debut against the visiting West Indies at Headingley, where he picked up a match haul of 5 wickets, showing signs of promise. However, it faded away and Watkin's Test career lasted just 3 matches. His ODI career too did not take off. Despite the reversal on the international stage, Watkin had enough motivation to fashion several victories for Glamorgan.
After his retirement in 2001, Watkin went on to become the Director of the Welsh Cricket Academy.
