Profile Summary
A strapping pacer, who could swing the ball both ways, Ed Giddins is more remembered for his wrongdoings. Giddins was banned from cricket for 18 months and was axed by Sussex after testing positive for Cocaine in 1996. He has also been no-balled for chucking.
He played 4 Tests for England with his best figures of 5-15 coming against Zimbabwe at Lord's. He did well against New Zealand and Zimbabwe but was found out against West Indies. He leaked over 4 runs an over in his final appearance against West Indies at Birmingham. In hindsight, he could
have been a better bowler had be exhibited some discipline and control, both on and off the field.
