Profile Summary
A well-rounded middle order batsman, Aftab Baloch plunged into the history books, when he scored 428 for Sind against Baluchistan in 1973-74. During that breathtaking knock, Baloch, who also captained Sind in that game, became the 7th batsman to register a quadruple century in first-class cricket. In fact by then, he had already made his Test debut against New Zealand. In his maiden Test, he got only one innings in which he made a steady 25 before being outdone by Vic Pollard.
Unfortunately, he was dropped and made a comeback only five years later, compiling 60 versus a West Indies bowling line-up spear-headed by Andy Roberts. Even more unfortunately was the fact that the comeback lasted just one game.
Baloch then hung up his boots after playing for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) against National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in 1985.
