Profile Summary
Born in Nagpur, Amit Paunikar is a right-handed wicket-keeper batsman. He made his first-class debut for Vidarbha against Services in 2007. He scored a hundred in the second innings and was one of the few players to score a ton on debut. The knock eventually helped his side win the contest.
However, he was consistent since then and was not a regular in the side. A decent List-A and Twenty20 record earned him an IPL contract with Rajasthan Royals in 2010 and he played a few matches for them until 2012. He was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for the 2014 edition of the IPL but did not get a game.
