Profile Summary
Born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh (UP) Ali Murtaza made his first class-debut with his state side at a tender age of 16. However, he was one of those players, who had to be banned for a while, for opting to play the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL). Though he did not feature for UP for a few season he returned and played a few games in the 2013-14 Ranji Trophy season.
Apart from his stint with ICL side Delhi Giants, he represented Mumbai Indians in IPL-3 and 4, before moving to Pune Warriors for the next season.
Though a national call-up seems a distant dream at the moment, Murtaza continues to play to domestic cricket.
