Profile Summary
Born on January 6, 1987, Barnwell is a well built middle order batsman who bowls nagging medium pace. Barnwell served notice of his skills in his very first year at the domestic level with both bat and ball.
Barnwell played a crucial role in helping Guyana emerge champs in the domestic T20 competition and gain an entry into the lucrative Champions League. In a team filled with spinners, Barnwell played the role of the leading pacer with aplomb.
His consistency has helped him be a part of the West Indian T20 set-up. He showed his power-hitting abilities with a 16 ball 34 against India.
Unfortunately, he could not hang onto his place and drifted away from the international radar. He was snapped by Royal Challengers Bangalore for USD 50,000 in 2013 but did not get a single game in the Indian T20 League.
