Profile Summary

An aggressive right-handed batsman and a reliable wicketkeeper, Jimmy Peirson started his ascent to the top by leading Queensland side in the Australian U-19 Championship title, scoring 311 runs at a remarkable average of 58.

As the Queensland bulls already had a seasoned keeper in Chris Hartley, Peirson's rise through the ranks was rather slow and it was difficult for him to make it into the side. However, due to loss of form and fitness troubles, Hartley lost favour with the selectors and Peirson finally made the cut for the Matador BBQs One-Day Cup in 2016.

In 2018, Peirson became the youngest ever Queensland captain to win the Sheffield Shield. He received a maiden international call-up in 2023 for the Ashes series in England but a debut did not follow.

He has been a top-order biffer for the Brisbane Heat and has done relatively well to be retained by the franchise. He has provided the Heat with several flying starts during the powerplay overs and has exhibited an ideal blend of athleticism and reliability behind the stumps.
