Profile Summary
Matthew Quinn made his first-class debut for Auckland against Central Districts in 2013. He could only fetch one wicket on debut but with consistent performances, he became a regular part of the Auckland team. After taking 62 wickets at an average of 28.29, in 2015, Quinn decided to move to England and signed a three-year contract with Essex, using his British passport.
His journey at Essex has been hit by injuries and he had to toil hard to become a permanent member of the team. In the 2017 season, he had back issues and was ruled out for the season. In 2018, he came back in the Essex team and in the practice match against India dismissed Indian vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane.
