Profile Summary
Fawad Ahmed is a Pakistani-born leg-spinner who now plays cricket in Australia since receiving the country's citizenship in 2013. He made his first-class debut with Abbottabad in 2005. In fact, his first application for citizenship was rejected but he was successful in his second.
Soon after, he played the Big Bash League in 2013 for Melbourne Renegades before slowly getting a hang of the other domestic competitions in Australia. Impressed by his variety the Australia selectors tested him for the limited overs series against England in 2013 in both the ODI and T20I formats. However, he did not do much and was soon axed from the side.
He continues to play for Victoria in the domestic circuit after he lost his place to James Muirhead in Australia's T20I side.
