Profile Summary

Right-arm fast-medium bowler - Gavin Griffiths has played for Lancashire, Hampshire and England Under-19s, before he signed his contract with Leicestershire. At the age of 21, Griffiths made his T20 debut for Lancashire in the second semi-final of NatWest t20 Blast where he bowled an impressive maiden over and Lancashire won the match by 6 wickets. As a youngster, Griffiths was calm and composed on debut and his tight spell ensured Lancashire won that knock-out contest against Hampshire and they also beat Northamptonshire Steelbacks in the final of the tournament. The young seamer was signed by Hampshire on a long spell next season and one of his more significant performances for Hampshire came in 2016 in a T20 Blast game where Griffiths claimed three wickets against Sussex at Hove.

In March 2017, the pacer made his first-class debut representing Leicestershire, and since then has been a regular member of the squad. His first-class debut was decent enough as Gavin bagged three wickets in the match, however, due to rain the match ended in a draw. According to his latest contract, Griffiths will be a part of Leicestershire county club till the end of the 2020 season. In 2017, he was the leading wicket-taker in the Royal London One-day cup competition; hence he's rated highly by his coaches. His average of 24.5 in Specsavers County Championship in 2018 depicts Gavin's versatility as he can prove to be a handy cricketer across all three formats.
