Profile Summary
An opening batsman by trade, Nischal comes from the old-school of cricketers. Compact defence, gritty and a technically sound batsman who made his first-class debut in the 2017-18 season. He has emerged onto the scene mustering a plethora of runs in league and various age groups for Karnataka. In his maiden outing against Maharashtra, Nischal scored 16 batting at number 3 but managed to retain his place in the team for the next few games. The youngster unleashed his potential against Uttar Pradesh in the final group match recording his maiden FC century.
He batted for 425 balls for his knock of 195 spending around 560 minutes at the crease. Nischal had to make way for Karun Nair for the quarter finals but he came back into the side for the semis although didn't create any sort of significant impact as Karnataka lost to Vidarbha by a 14-run margin and crashed out of the tournament. Nischal has began the 2018/19 season superbly registering a century against the defending champions - Vidarbha. Nischal was Karnataka's second highest run-scorer with 620 runs in 18 innings.
