Profile Summary
Kamran Ghulam, like many other kids, started playing tape-ball cricket and was remarked as the local cricketing celebrity during his childhood. He originates from Dir district, part of the Abbottabad region. He started his career as a batsman, but his potential with the ball made him a vital all-rounder in the Pakistan Under - 19 team.
Ghulam played club cricket at Peshawar before he made inroads to the Under - 19 team. He was part of the Pakistan U - 19 team that toured England during 2013 and had brief success both with the bat and ball.
But as Kamram played more domestic cricket. He took care of his batting more than his bowling skills. In the 2020-21 season of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, Kamran scored more than a 1000 runs and it was then that he banged open the door of opportunity of playing at the highest level. But he was still kept on the fringes for the next couple of seasons. He made is ODI debut in early 2023. But he made his impression in late 2024 when he scored a 100 against Zimbabwe and played a spectacular knock of 63 off 32 balls against SA at Newlands. This came after his Test debut when he scored a century of debut against the touring English side at Multan. That knock helped Pakistan level the series and then they went on to win it.
