Profile Summary

Gavin Main played for the same club, Uddingston, as his Scotland team mate Calum MacLeod. Durham saw the potential in the then teenager and gave him an unexpected debut against Nottinghamshire in 2014. Main returned figures of 3 for 37 with the wickets of Rikki Wessels and Stuart Broad among them.

The right-arm quick, who has a deadly yorker, is prone to injuries and they have already impacted his fledgling career. Main has missed plenty of cricket and played only two more first-class games for Durham, against Northamptonshire and Kent.

Main was part of Scotland's squad during the 2016 World T20 qualifying stage and also made his List-A debut in the 2015-17 ICC World Cricket League Championship. Though he has played a handful of games, Main remains a bright prospect for both club and country.
