Stafanie Taylor’s All-Round Brilliance Seals West Indies’ 3-0 T20I Sweep
Stafanie Taylor produced a superb all-round performance as West Indies Women defeated Zimbabwe Women by eight wickets in Harare to complete a 3-0 T20I series sweep. Taylor took 2/8 with the ball before smashing an unbeaten 64 off 39 balls, guiding the visitors to 143/2 in just 17 overs after Zimbabwe posted 142/6.

Stafanie Taylor delivered a match-winning all-round performance as West Indies Women completed a 3-0 T20I series sweep against Zimbabwe Women with a comfortable eight-wicket victory in Harare.
After restricting Zimbabwe to 142/6, the visitors chased down the target in only 17 overs. Taylor played the decisive role in both innings, first taking 2/8 from four overs before producing an unbeaten 64 from 39 balls.
Zimbabwe Post Their Best Total of the Series
Zimbabwe won the toss and chose to bat first at Takashinga Sports Club. After being restricted to 97/9 and 106/7 in the opening two matches, the hosts produced their strongest batting effort of the series.
Beloved Biza provided an aggressive start with 21 from 16 balls, but Zimbabwe lost wickets regularly during the middle overs. Kelis Ndhlovu then became the key figure in the innings, holding the batting together while the scoring rate remained relatively controlled.
Ndhlovu Leads Zimbabwe's Recovery
Ndhlovu built useful partnerships with Chiedza Dhururu and later the lower order. She reached her half-century from 36 balls and eventually finished with 65 from 48 deliveries.
Her innings included six fours and three sixes and gave Zimbabwe the platform to accelerate towards the end of the innings.
Christine Mutasa added an unbeaten 24 from 19 balls, while Michelle Mavunga contributed a late six as Zimbabwe collected 49 runs during the final five overs.
The late acceleration lifted Zimbabwe to 142/6 from their 20 overs.
Taylor Controls the Zimbabwe Innings
Taylor was the standout bowler for West Indies. The veteran all-rounder conceded only eight runs from her four overs and dismissed Chiedza Dhururu and Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano.
Her figures of 2/8 included a maiden over and ensured Zimbabwe could not build the momentum required for a significantly larger total.
Jahzara Claxton also contributed with the ball, taking two wickets as the West Indies bowling attack kept the hosts under pressure throughout the innings.
West Indies Start the Chase Positively
West Indies began their chase at a healthy pace, reaching 43/1 during the Powerplay after losing Realeanna Grimmond for 17.
Taylor was joined by Jahzara Claxton, and the pair immediately settled the chase. They kept the required run rate comfortably under control while building a 71-run partnership from 56 balls.
Claxton eventually fell for 38 from 37 balls in the 12th over, but by then West Indies had reached 90/2 and needed only 53 runs from 48 balls.
Taylor Finishes the Job
With Claxton dismissed, Taylor shifted gears and took complete control of the chase. She had already reached 35 from 23 balls but accelerated significantly during the closing stages.
The veteran batter finished unbeaten on 64 from only 39 deliveries, striking 11 fours at a strike rate of more than 164.
Jannillea Glasgow provided the support at the other end, remaining unbeaten on 15 from 15 balls. The pair added 53 from just 30 deliveries to complete the chase.
West Indies Reach the Target in 17 Overs
West Indies finished on 143/2 after 17 overs, winning the match by eight wickets with 18 balls remaining.
The result completed a convincing 3-0 sweep after West Indies had also won the first two matches comfortably. Zimbabwe therefore finished the T20I leg of the tour without a victory.
Taylor Reaches a Significant T20I Milestone
Taylor's performance also added another important milestone to her international career. Her contribution with both bat and ball took her into an elite group of women's T20I all-rounders.
She became only the fourth woman to reach the combined landmark of 3,000 T20I runs and 100 wickets, underlining the extraordinary longevity and versatility of her international career.
Claxton Named Player of the Series
Although Taylor was the decisive performer in the final, Jahzara Claxton was named Player of the Series after an impressive all-round campaign.
Claxton finished the T20I series with 73 runs and seven wickets, making important contributions throughout the three matches.
Her performances provide another positive development for West Indies as the team continues to build depth around its experienced core.
A Successful Zimbabwe Tour
The T20I clean sweep capped a successful multi-format tour for West Indies Women. The visitors had already won the three-match ODI series 2-1 before dominating the T20I leg.
West Indies therefore finished the tour with victories in both formats, while Zimbabwe showed improvement in the final T20I despite ultimately falling well short of the target.
Zimbabwe Show Signs of Progress
Although Zimbabwe could not win a T20I during the series, their final performance was considerably stronger than their opening two matches.
Ndhlovu's 65 provided an encouraging individual performance, while the late contributions from Mutasa and Mavunga helped the hosts post a competitive total.
However, the West Indies chase demonstrated the difference in experience and batting depth between the two sides.
West Indies Finish With a Clean Sweep
Taylor's combination of economical bowling and aggressive batting proved decisive in the final match. Her 2/8 restricted Zimbabwe's scoring options before her unbeaten 64 made the chase straightforward.
West Indies ultimately completed an eight-wicket victory with three overs remaining, sealing a 3-0 series triumph and ending their Zimbabwe tour on a high.
For Taylor, the performance was another reminder of her enduring value to the West Indies side, while the clean sweep gives the team significant momentum after a successful tour across both white-ball formats.
